Hovercam and Other Scanning Cameras

Has anyone here ever used a Hovercam? Blind Bargains has one for $100, and it's the T5-V, adapted for the blind. I'm thinking of using it with either Scan2text or Finereader, since both recognise Greek.

I have used a variety of flatbed scanners in the past, and they work well. But I want something more portable. More importantly, I have several books that I want to scan, but that are old and extremely valuable to me, and I don't want to break the spines on them, which is necessary when using a flatbed scanner. For obvious reasons, I also don't want anything that's sheetfed.

I have the original KNFB Reader, but it doesn't recognise Greek, and I find it difficult to use, being that I have no sight at all. The lighting, angle of the pages, and distance that I need to keep the camera from the paper confuses me. I read that these problems are eased a bit with this version of the Hovercam. At the very least, I could buy a little booklight, so that problem will be solved. If this device is not a good option for me, would another camera scanner be useful, or can you at least recommend a light flatbed? Thanks.
